We are proud to announce our official renaming of our scholarship fund to The Nancy Fawcett Memorial Scholarship Fund, in honor of Nancy who passed away in February. Nancy was not only a beloved member of our group therapy community, but also dedicated herself to strengthening our scholarship fund over the past several years. Through the memorial fund, we will continue to honor her love for GPALA and group therapy, as we provide scholarships to those needing assistance to attend our events.
Scholarships are given to both members and non-members of GPALA for the three major training events held each year, the Principles of Group Psychotherapy, the two day Annual Conference and the one day Conference. GPALA has a special interest in making our educational activities affordable to group therapists and in particular to those working in community settings and with under-served populations. Each scholarship applicant is asked to pay as much of the tuition as they can, there are no full scholarships given , and we hope to be able to help as many applicants as possible with the funds we have available. Please be sure to apply for a scholarship as soon as possible and certainly by the deadline given on the registration form. We cannot guarantee that all applicants will receive a scholarship since our scholarship funds are limited. We work to respond to applicants within a week of when the application has been received.
The Scholarship Application Form should be submitted as early as possible for upcoming activities. Funds tend to be limited, so we cannot guarantee that all applicants will receive a scholarship. Decisions are usually made quickly and often within a week of the application being received. Application deadline is 2 weeks prior to each event.
We are NOW accepting scholarship applications for our Fall One Day Conference AND Principles 2018 (November edition)
Note: We have limited funds available for scholarships. Preference is usually given to GPALA members.
